Manulife partners with League to power next-generation member experience

Today we announced that Manulife has selected League to power their next-generation member experience. Through this collaboration, Manulife will integrate League capabilities into its vast ecosystem to deliver new, individualized digital care for members. The all-in-one offering is designed to help members understand, navigate and engage in their health and benefits and marks a significant milestone in Manulife’s journey to offer a best-in-class digital health and wellness journey for its millions of Group Benefits members.

Well beyond processing claims, Manulife Group Benefits members will now be able to easily access and understand all of their employee benefits. Through the interactive platform and personalized gamified challenges, members will be able to navigate health prevention, intervention and recovery through their own unique virtual health journeys.

“Partnering with League will enable us to accelerate our digital transformation and expand our innovative and care-oriented digital health experiences to our Group Benefits members across Canada,” says Ashesh Desai, Head of Group Benefits, Manulife Canada. “League will enable us to deliver an innovative and digital-first experience that will help our members better understand their health, focus on prevention, and access the care they need – ultimately improving health outcomes for millions of Canadians.”

With hundreds of customers that include organizations such as Shoppers Drug Mart, Shopify and Highmark Health, League’s healthcare CX platform empowers payers, providers and consumer health partners to build and deploy high-engagement, personalized healthcare experiences consumers love. The platform technology pioneer has raised over $220 million in venture capital to date, with their most recent round being led by TDM Growth Partners, known investors in Square, Twilio and Slack.

“What excites me most about this project is that it’s truly designed for meaningful member engagement. Traditional offerings often fail because they are solely transactional,” said Michael Serbinis, Founder and CEO of League. “This collaboration will allow us to deliver an orchestrated series of personalized next best actions and drive real behavior change.”

Manulife and League intend to deploy the new experience in early 2024.
