League named to KPMG’s Fintech100 for third consecutive year

2018 has been an incredible year for League and it has been rewarding to see the hard work of our team get recognized globally. Over the summer, we were recognized by Linkedin as a top Canadian start up and now, I am proud to announce that for the third year in a row, League has been named one of the world’s most innovative fintech companies by KPMG, moving up to number 39 on the list.

The Fintech100 is a collaboration between H2 Ventures and KPMG and features the world’s leading 50 Established Innovators, and the 50 most intriguing ‘Emerging Stars’. The list is the result of a global search and in 2018, includes companies from more than 30 countries around the world.

It is also exciting to see another great Canadian company, Wealthsimple, be recognized. With our thriving tech ecosystem I know that Canada has all the potential to become a power player in this space. I am excited for the future of fintech in Canada – we have favorable immigration policies and a science landscape that is second to none. Companies that start here understand what it means to be global from day one, and I am excited for the future.

The level of research that goes into the vetting process emphasizes the status of this recognition and we are honoured to be among such elite company. League and the other companies who landed the coveted spots on the ‘Leading 50’ were ranked based on innovation, capital raising activity, size and reach.

Once again, this accolade is a testament to the hard work of no single person, but the tremendous team we have here at League. Startup is a team sport and I’m excited to continue our important work, and to eventually crack number 1 on this list. Thanks to everyone who made this possible!
