Toronto, ON — Jul 07, 2026 — League, the leading healthcare experience platform, today announced the appointment of Dr. Matea Deliu as Chief Medical Information Officer. A practicing physician and health system executive, Dr. Deliu has spent her career at the intersection of clinical practice, large-scale system transformation, and healthcare AI policy. Her appointment reflects the combination at the heart of what League delivers: data driven health experiences that drive members to take action and complete their care.
Dr. Deliu is one of healthcare’s most influential voices on AI, serving as Primary Care Lead for Responsible AI UK, shaping the governance and evaluation frameworks that will determine how clinical AI gets deployed safely at scale. She has also worked hand-in-hand with NHS England London Region on the NHS App, the patient-facing digital platform serving over 39 million people. As Chief Clinical Information Officer for Bromley Healthcare and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, she oversees care for millions across one of the most complex, diverse patient populations anywhere in the world.
“Whether in London, New York, or Toronto, healthcare organizations have the same problem: members engage, but care never gets completed,” said Dr. Deliu. “Metrics move, care gaps stay open, and costs stay high. League is built to close that distance, identifying what each member needs next, removing the barriers in their way, and completing the action. League is already closing those gaps at scale. My role is to advance that work and ensure League’s AI is something clinicians trust and patients act on.”
Working across League’s enterprise, Dr. Deliu will ensure League’s AI solutions are built, validated, and deployed with the clinical guardrails and governance that healthcare demands. Drawing on her global experience in health system transformation, she will serve as a partner to healthcare organizations navigating the shift from AI experimentation to measurable outcomes at scale.
“Matea is one of those rare leaders who has built solutions that deliver real results inside some of the most complex health systems in the world,” said Mike Serbinis, CEO of League. “She understands what clinicians need, what patients need, and what it takes to make AI meaningful rather than marginal. Bringing her experience into League’s leadership team makes us a stronger partner to every healthcare organization we work with.”
The appointment follows the recent launch of League Labs, League’s applied research group making its AI research, benchmarks, and synthetic data infrastructure available to the broader research community. Together, they reflect League’s commitment to ensuring healthcare AI delivers on its promise for patients, for clinicians, and for the industry.
