Healthcare executives have long fallen back on a do-it-yourself approach to develop, deploy and manage technologies in-house. But as consumers are increasingly demanding greater personalization — with options akin to Netflix, Peloton and Uber — healthcare organizations cannot meet that demand alone.
As such, many are forming partnerships to transform the experiences they deliver to consumers, health plan members and patients. Such strategic partnerships between healthcare and tech, in fact, have proven critical to driving customer and patient engagement, managing data, modernizing care delivery and other initiatives.¹
Healthcare is ripe for innovation. After more than 600 deals in each quarter of 2021, analysts are anticipating that partnerships and mergers and acquisitions will continue into 2023.² A survey of 1,200 business leaders across six industries determined that healthcare ranked near the top of industries adopting new technologies. Among those healthcare leaders surveyed, 92% said their business has adopted new ways of working since 2020, and 72% indicated that innovation initiatives have increased within the same timeframe.³
So the stage is set to transform how healthcare organizations interact with patients and members — or risk falling behind fast-moving competitors.
Why transform healthcare CX now?
Despite so much innovation underway, and while healthcare has experienced a wave of point solutions, having so many products both benefits consumers and creates new levels of complexity in the already disjointed, fragmented digital health experience.
Healthcare executives now understand the need to modernize healthcare experiences for plan members or patients. But how? Where do they start? And what are the strategic partnership opportunities executives should identify and pursue when beginning?
On February 9, 2023, leaders and innovators in healthcare and tech will convene during League Connect 2023, a global livestream event, to discuss how best to leverage partnerships and emerging technologies, share and reduce investment risk and accelerate speed-to-value.
League Connect 2023: partnerships track
Virtual guests will have the opportunity to attend the following discussions to learn more about leveraging healthcare partnerships to accelerate CX transformation:
Transforming healthcare’s ‘do it alone’ mindset to strategic ‘coopetition’
For decades, healthcare organizations have prided themselves on deploying products and programs that have been built entirely in-house. The movement toward and increasing complexity of delivering omnichannel health experiences has disrupted this mentality and created an environment where organizations are now expected to partner with a range of different companies in order to be successful. This panel will discuss how healthcare organizations can best navigate this new landscape and forge partnerships that will help them succeed in the era of digital transformation.
When: 10:30-11:15am EST
Leveraging engaged consumers to drive better outcomes
Data is exploding across industries, but research shows the volume of data in healthcare will surpass that of other sectors by 2025. Many healthcare organizations, however, are ill-equipped to keep pace with the rate of data growth. But there are ample partnership opportunities to leverage technologies to help with data management. What are the foundational basics executives should understand before pursuing such an opportunity? Experts will address that question and share insights about driving hyper-personalization and engagement to improve outcomes.
When: 12:00-12:30pm EST
Engaging consumers: a first step. Next? Make data actionable
Individuals are far more compelled to engage in healthy behaviors or change unhealthy habits when offered an incentive. FitBit is among the companies that has demonstrated the power of incentivization with real-world results. Experts will exchange perspectives on the ways healthcare entities are striking novel partnerships with companies such as Fitbit to harness user-generated data in relatively new ways.
When: 3:00-3:30pm EST
Additional content tracks: action and strategy
