We created Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at League to bring together Leaguers who share a common characteristic (e.g. gender, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, etc.). They are employee-led and employee-driven groups that foster a safe space for Leaguers to discuss their professional development and increase interaction and relationship-building within League’s teams and departments.

The Mental Health ERG was created as a safe space for Leaguers to get mental health support by having regular chats where they can connect with each other, share how they feel and talk about what they’re going through. We recognize there’s a big stigma around mental health. To address this, we brainstorm initiatives that could benefit the entire company and raise awareness. For example, we took advantage of Mental Health Awareness month in May and brought in Michael Landsberg as a guest speaker to talk about removing the stigma of mental health. We also had a medical professional talk to us about stress management and tactics to stay healthy and closed with a fireside chat with Leaguers who shared their individual mental health stories.
The #black-at-league ERG was created for Black Leaguers to come together to connect, celebrate and learn from each other in a safe environment. We aim to support members in the group as well as the larger League team to foster a deeper sense of inclusion. During ERG meetings, people are encouraged to be open-minded, be themselves and maintain a private and safe environment keeping in mind that the ERG shares different cultural and personal experiences, and that’s okay.
In February, the ERG showcased brilliant Black figures in tech each week to all Leaguers. Throughout the year, we aim to have guest speakers come in to discuss financial and economic empowerment, systemic racism, mental health and much more, including participation in community events and celebrations of Black culture.
The #lgbtqai+ ERG brings together LGBTQIA+ Leaguers and allies to celebrate, represent and uplift everyone who identifies as part of the vibrant LGBTQIA+ spectrum. The ERG provides and promotes visibility and overall diversity of thought, ideas and experiences so that all Leaguers can show up to work as their whole, true selves.
Some of the work we have done/are doing
- Bringing an LGBTQAI+ lens to our product, health programs, content and League company culture
- Had guests in June to discuss health equity as it relates to the LGBTQAI+ community as well as facilitate a discussion for our company around what it means to be an ally and ways to take action towards creating a more inclusive community
- Participation in LGBTQAI+ focused events outside of League to help attract talent that would add to our company’s diversity and inclusivity initiatives

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council meets once a month to discuss, plan, allocate resources and execute on diversity initiatives at League. The council is composed of ERG members, co-chairs and members of the People & Culture Team. Everyone is welcome to join!
