class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai r\u00e9cemment eu le privil\u00e8ge de me joindre \u00e0 un panel de leaders du secteur de la sant\u00e9 au Canadian Club Toronto pour discuter d\u2019un sujet crucial pour l\u2019avenir du Canada&nbsp;: <em>L&rsquo;imp\u00e9ratif \u00e9conomique du renouvellement des soins de sant\u00e9<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mod\u00e9r\u00e9e par Rola Dagher, la conversation a red\u00e9fini les soins de sant\u00e9 non seulement comme un d\u00e9fi politique, mais comme un pilier central de la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique du Canada. En partageant la sc\u00e8ne avec Karli Farrow (Trillium Health Partners), le Dr Dominik Nowak (Women\u2019s College Hospital) et Amie Archibald-Varley (d\u00e9fenseure de l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 en sant\u00e9), il est devenu clair que, bien que nous ayons des talents de classe mondiale, la conception de notre syst\u00e8me ne r\u00e9pond pas \u00e0 la demande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voici les principaux enseignements tir\u00e9s de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement et la voie \u00e0 suivre pour les soins de sant\u00e9 au Canada&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-praise-shadow-color has-text-color has-title-four-font-size\"><strong>1.&nbsp;Les soins de sant\u00e9 sont un moteur \u00e9conomique, pas seulement un poste budg\u00e9taire<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On entend souvent dire que nous avons besoin d&rsquo;une \u00e9conomie forte pour financer les soins de sant\u00e9. Mais la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est que nous avons besoin d&rsquo;un syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 solide pour avoir une \u00e9conomie solide. \u00c0 l&rsquo;heure actuelle, les co\u00fbts des soins de sant\u00e9 absorbent pr\u00e8s de 50&nbsp;% des budgets provinciaux, un chiffre qui ne cesse d&rsquo;augmenter. Comme je l\u2019ai mentionn\u00e9 lors du panel, c\u2019est comme un \u00ab&nbsp;Pac-Man au coin&nbsp;\u00bb, qui consomme du capital qui pourrait autrement \u00eatre investi dans l\u2019\u00e9ducation, les infrastructures et l\u2019innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lorsque les soins de sant\u00e9 deviennent un frein \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;un catalyseur d&rsquo;une main-d&rsquo;\u0153uvre en bonne sant\u00e9, la productivit\u00e9 en souffre. Les Canadiens souffrent. Nous devons inverser le sc\u00e9nario. En investissant dans un syst\u00e8me qui maintient les Canadiens en sant\u00e9, plut\u00f4t que de simplement les soigner lorsqu\u2019ils sont malades, nous pouvons transformer les soins de sant\u00e9 en un avantage concurrentiel pour le Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-title-four-font-size\"><strong>2.&nbsp;Nous ne pouvons pas sortir de cette crise par la construction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Karli a partag\u00e9 une statistique alarmante \u00e0 propos du nouvel <a href=\"https:\/\/trilliumhealthworks.ca\/new-mississauga-hospital.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">h\u00f4pital Peter Gilgan Mississauga<\/a>, un vaste projet d\u2019infrastructure actuellement en cours.
