Home Field Advantage... It's Real |
|
What's really interesting about all of this... it doesn't take much to be good at it. Consider the Top 30 here so far. The person with the most points is averaging 63% accuracy. The highest? 70% What does #30 have? 63% So clearly, the trick is not picking which teams will win. It's making sure you have the lowest points on your misses. Consider these numbers from StatBandit . Through week 3, had you selected all home teams, for every game, you would be at just about 60%. That means 19 misses in three weeks. Out of a possible of 392 points, if you would have been able to put lowest possible points on those 19 misses you would have about 322 points which would still put you in the Top 20.
Now if only there was some way to figure out where to put those loser points. |

In the aftermath of week 2, we have started to make some changes to make things better. One of the suggestions was the current pick screen wasn't easy to print. (because it printed the entire page, which didn't format all that well) So we've added a new link in the Group Standings page that looks just like the image to the left.
If you click this, it will pop a new window which should print in an orderly fashion. The intended use: You can take the full pick sheet with you to the sports bar so you can tally points during the games or, so you can easily make a copy of all the picks should there be a scoring/point allocation dispute. |
